Geto Boys member Willie D, Slim Thug, Paul Wall and more met with Houston mayor, Sylvester Turner to discuss police brutality, violence and other problems facing the community. This comes on the heels of another, similar event that took place in Atlanta and the hip-hop community there.
After the meeting, many of the rappers and others went to the Houston Unity National Bank, the only Black-owned bank in Texas to open accounts. The collective efforts are all a part of the Hope for Houston initiative.
