Following Matt Lauer’s sexual allegations, he was fired from the Today Show. Savannah Guthrie is the other co-host and they actually mesh really well with one another. NBC news chairman Andy Lack announced this news shortly before the show had aired. The memo stated that “Over the past several weeks, Hoda seamlessly stepped into the co-anchor role alongside Savannah, and the two have quickly hit the ground running. They have an undeniable connection with each other and most importantly, with viewers, a hallmark of ‘Today.’”
Savannah Guthrie definitely thought this was the most popular decision NBC has ever made and even stated that there was no one else she would rather be sitting next to.
