Cowboys and Cardinals lock arms during National Anthem

Cowboys and Cardinals Kneel during National Anthem

It seems to me like Jerry Jones had a change of heart about kicking his teammates off his team if they kneeled during the National Anthem.

The Dallas Cowboys and Arizona Cardinals locked arms with teammates in response to Donald Trump’s divisive comments during the game.

However, it was the scripture on Jordin Sparks hand that resonated with many as she was singing the national anthem. The scripture that pop star Jordin Sparks had written on her hand was Proverb 31:8-9: “Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.” A lot of individuals took to their social media to praise Ms. Sparks.

The Cowboys and Cardinals display came after a weekend in which Trump openly slammed the NFL and the players and coaches for protesting during the National Anthem which in all actuality they have every right to do, The players responded this past Sunday by kneeling, locking elbows or remaining in the locker room during the Star-Spangled Banner performance.

The teams had initially talked about a collective display of unity but they did not do so as they were standing in separate locations during the anthem according to ESPN sideline reporter Lisa Salters.   Unfortunately,  No member of either team was shown in the televised broadcast kneeling or sitting.

The Cowboys’ owner Jerry Jones knelt in the middle of the field with his team, which I am sure a lot of people were confused, upset or happy about after the comments he made a few weeks ago. A ton of Boos could be heard from the rowdy crowd in Glendale, Arizona.
The player’s intention was to show a stand for equality and a represent unity but they did want to separate that message from the National Anthem.

How do you feel about this show of support for Colin Kaepernick or do you believe it has nothing to do with him?

It’s Your World.
