First, we have people coming for H&M (Which we COMPLETELY agree with) and now everyone is on @Adidas head. However, there is a major difference. Adidas predator campaign is nothing new. The animalistic texture on the face, etc. have been tradition over the years. It’s unfortunate that this time around that just because it is a black man on the campaign now it is being turned into something that it just truly is not.
Here are a few photos from over the past few years.
And now for the newest one from 2018
What are your thoughts? We do get how this can be seen as derogatory in the black community do not get it twisted, but that was not adidas intentions.
At least we believe that.
While we do believe it is important that companies are aware of the images and stereotypes when it comes to black people and other disenfranchised groups, it is equally important that we are not hypersensitive to these type of things.
While we are focusing on this, we may end up missing something really important that we should actually be paying attention to.
