International Smoke will occupy a 6,000-square-foot space at CityCentre.

Ayesha Curry and Michael Mina’s Much-Anticipated Restaurant Debuts in July

Just about eight months after it was announced, International Smoke will open its doors in Houston next month.

The restaurant from cookbook author and food personality Ayesha Curry and Chef Michael Mina is set to debut at 600 Sorella Court, occupying a 6,000-square-foot space. According to a press release, the restaurant will have two of its very own terraces on which diners can enjoy dishes like jerk-spiced duck wings, binchotan-grilled lobster, and Argentine ribeye, a dish that involves hay-smoked beef and chimichurri sauce.

Former Riel chef E.J. Miller will lead the kitchen, helping the out-of-towners source ingredients from purveyors like Dewberry Hill Farms, Gundermann Acres, and 44 Farms. Curry and Mina offered diners a taste of what to expect at an International Smoke pop-up hosted at Hugo’s in Montrose earlier this month, previewing dishes like gochujang-spiced ribs and oysters, and tom kha shooters garnished with Gulf shrimp.

International Smoke is on track for a July debut, but no official opening date has been set. When it arrives, the restaurant will be open Monday through Thursday from 4 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m.
